RE: Changing jobs, anyone else make a long commute?

Sometimes you've just got to do what you've got to do. Eighteen years ago I went through one of the base closures. Since then I've been commuting 160 miles a day at an hour and a half each way on a good day. Security to me was the important issue I can live with the rest.

RE: It starts tonight !!!..Waiting on night II

I know its a little classy for a #3 and #8 fan:B Sorry Jacksons, I was just kidding. Actually though I'm more a drama series or movie fan and don't care at all for the reality or contest shows.

RE: It starts tonight !!!..Waiting on night II

I didn't get to watch it, I painted a wall in my house and had to watch it dry.

RE: Florida Keys, Where do I stay??

I'm glad you were able to get a place at Sigsbee, I was going to mention Boydes just over the bridge if you could find anything else. I've dove the Keys quite a bit and in Key West, SouthPoint divers IMO is the better company. Although diving in Key West is limited, the mid to upper Keys are better. If you like wreck diving there's plenty of company's around the Marathon area that are good with plenty of breach dive wrecks.

RE: NFL Week VI

After yesterday, it sure doesn't look like the Pats. If they can't get by Miami I hate to see how they'll play against a good team. BUT, we'll still keep up hope.

RE: I've been going to the grocery store with

Lets just say, here in the northeast, the warmer the weather, the less clothing being worn in the stores. I just love hot weather!!!!!

RE: To those I have offended, I apologize

I understood your meaning, I just figure that this is "around the campfire" not one of the tech sections. If there's ever a place to kind of bare your soul, it would be around the campfire. I agree with the statement that sometimes people don't feel comfortable opening up to friends, although, if they really are friends, that's exactly who you should talking to. Either way, if I were you, I would loose sleep over your original post.

RE: Jeep Rubicon

So why the need to put the transmission in 5th if the tc is in neutral?

RE: NASCAR Hendrick busy being referee

I'm a fan of his and I won't make an excuse, I sat in the stands at NHMS this last weekend and listened to every bit of that whining. I've also listened to him whine every time he's here. Hendrick did a good job of calming him down which Tony Jr can't seem to do. IMHO Hendrick would be better served to replace Tony Jr with a crewchief that commanded respect from Jr and that Jr was forced to listen to. I think one of his problems now is the whole relationship between cousins. His father could drive the wheels off anything, it seems like Jr has to have a perfect car or he makes excuses about his lack of performance.

Jeep Rubicon

Question for all the Jeep owners. DW read something in the owners manual about the locker while towing flat 4. Her Rubicon is an 03, manaul shift with 3" lift. I'm fine with all the rest of the things needed, brakes, lighting, tow bar, etc. I know to put the transfer case and shifter in neutral but is there anything that needs to be done with the locker or drive shafts when towing?

RE: Nascar tailgating

We don't day tailgate but we do take our MH to New Hampshire Speedway the weekend before the race and come back the next Thrursday till the day after the race. We don't drive away after the race so we definitely make sure we have plenty of beer, chips, steaks, ribs and anything else unhealthy we can think of.

RE: NASCAR at Richmond...........Nationwide & Cup

Highlight of the race no matter whos fault it was, Jr. taking out Shrub. I still don't think he can be beat in the Chase.

RE: Spaciousness Hype

My wife is one that has a tendency to go smaller rather then larger so it was pretty difficult for me to talk her into the 24' C that we have now and trade in the 19' Roadtrac we had before. My point being, when the wife is working inside the coach, how much inconvience is it on you? With the slide in this unit and the extr room it allows, the wife can pretty much do what she wants without bothering me. To me the inside layout of a unit has everything to do usuable and convient space. A little more space = a happy couple.

RE: NASCAR Signs of the times..

Yeah, that's cool allright, but will any of the drivers be doing backflips off their car if they win? :) Ya, and you won't have to worry about the crowds, that's exactly why its so cheap, not as many people really care about that racing. If it ever becomes popular and main stream, that's when the prices will go up just like every other popular sport.

RE: Great day on my Harley....my life has changed

Great write up and hopefully you'll get that same feeling every time you take the bike out. I've been riding since I was 16 and at 59 I still get that feeling when I know I'm going to take a good long ride on a beautiful day. Thank you so much! Makes me feel good to know there's others that know that feeling. I find it hard to believe that anybody that owns a bike doesn't feel this same way. DW has been riding since 1988 and is on her third Harley, and even though we do a May vacation every year to Aruba, the best time we have is out in Sturgis for bike week when we ride together and put on the majority of our yearly mileage.

RE: NASCAR Signs of the times..

Its not just the NASCAR races that aren't being fully attended. The bike weeks around the country are also noticably vacant as opposed to years past also. When it comes to spending money on needless items, the economy just doesn't support the extras. We in the Northeast have to look at going into the winter with oil prices the way they are, that doesn't leave a lot of extra money to blow on rising prices that the sports world is imposing. I put out almost $1,000 for a Red Sox game a couple of weeks ago only to have it rescheduled because of rain till the 13th of September.....the same weekend as the New Hampsire race. I really didn't need to blow that money but if you really want to attend a game or a race, you'll have to either pay the price or stay home. I don't see that it's going to get any better anytime soon.

DW tends to use the "mine" a lot when talking everything WE own.

RE: Sharpie 500 from Bristol

I don't care who bumps who, If you can't pass, when it's critical, without knocking someone out of the way, you ain't much of a driver!!! As I see it there's probably only one driver out there that wouldn't do the bump and run to win a race and that's Mark Martin. That's probably also the reason that he's never won a championship. For the drivers that you think would never do the bump and run, listen to them during a race, if theirs someone in the way, they'll move them.

RE: Awning Latch that Unlatches Itself?

Do a search for the Awning Saver. I've seen awnings unrolled because of sever cross winds and actually rip off the unit. I installed one of the Awning Savers a couple of years ago and know of at least one time that it would have been a gonner if it hadn't been for the Saver.
